The collection consists of one hundred letters from Lonnie Coleman to his very close personal friend Edgar Jean Brasco. The letters were written while Coleman was in the Navy and a few years after his service. Bracco was also a writer and the letters concern Coleman's personal feelings for Bracco but much is related to his growth in writing the novel and the influences upon him. The letters contain criticism and support of Bracco's writing as well. Also included are eleven letters from Bracco to Nowell Briscoe relating his relationship with Coleman. The collection also contains a letter from Gordon Reekie, two letters to Dr. Roy Williams, four photographs of Lonnie Coleman with Edgar Bracco, and correspondence from Lonnie Coleman to Oma Ratchford.
